A note on our refurbishment

We are currently in the final stages of a stunning full refurbishment and design renovation throughout the hotel. We are adding the finishing touches to our lobby, bedrooms and Bonnie’s restaurant and aim to be complete soon.

Please kindly note, as we undergo our transformation, you may be staying in one of our older styled bedrooms.

During your visit, you may experience noise between 9:00am – 6pm. We greatly appreciate your understanding at this time and we are very excited to show you all of the hotel when the renovations are complete.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Glasson Lakehouse is renowned for its lush countryside location and grounds, boasting some of the most scenic views of beautiful Lough Ree and Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands. The hotel, bursting with charm and famous Irish hospitality, has always been a destination for tourists, and locals alike, seeking an idyllic getaway and staycation. Glasson Lakehouse has seen significant changes since being acquired in 2018 by Press Up Hospitality Group, who are known for their beautiful bespoke design-led hotels including The Mayson, The Clarence, The Dean Dublin and most recently The Dean Cork which opened in December 2020. 

The hotel has undergone a complete interior redesign including furniture, flooring, lighting, indoor and much more, including the walls which have been decorated with varying bespoke artworks from leading Irish artists, designers and painters.

 

NEW ADDITIONS 

Introducing Bonnie’s Restaurant, a modern dining experience focused on big flavours using only the freshest seasonal ingredients. One of the capital’s favourite spots for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, it will be open to hotel guests and general diners. Our menu has been created by Executive Chef Dee Adamson with an emphasis on fresh, local produce and seasonal fare and more paired with a stacked drinks menu of cocktails, wines and beers. 

The main bar and restaurant, which is a beautiful space flooded with natural light and views of the lake, now offers comfortable booths and seating arrangements. The elevated function room, a favourite for weddings and other big occasions, now boasts a stunning chandelier, beautiful hardwood floors and unique artwork decorated on the walls. 

Looking for a cosy pint after a round of golf or before your meal? Tom’s Fish & Tackle is a new traditional Irish pub with a full draught beer and cocktail menu. Sit back in one of their cosy snugs or pull up a stool and watch the latest sports as the fireplace roars. Heading to the lake for a spot of fishing? Tom’s got all your bait and tackle needs covered. 

With the rise of outdoor dining, and to take advantage of the beautiful views, Glasson Lakehouse has added a beautiful handcrafted outdoor dining space fully equipped with gorgeous seating arrangements and heaters all centred around a one of a kind Argentine BBQ pit, outdoor terrace bar and cosy fire pit. Guests can expect delicious BBQ foods fresh from the grill, cocktails and more all overlooking the stunning Lough Ree. The outdoor space also plays host to our Elephant & Castle and Wowburger food trucks and also serves as the perfect spot for a tranquil morning breakfast. 

 

IT’S TEE TIME

Golfing at Glasson Golf Club is truly an experience not to be missed. The 18-hole parkland course is perfect for all ages and levels, from experienced golfers testing themselves at a competitive level, to those who prefer to take things a little slower and enjoy the views. 

The course, originally designed by famed Irish golf course designer Christy O’Connor Jnr., has undergone extensive renovations to improve and amplify the golfers experience. Under the watchful eye of Club Pro Lynn McCool and guidance of talented Golf Designer David Jones and contractors GolfLink Evolve, the renovations include a redevelopment of holes 13 – 18 with advanced draining to allow for year-round play, new pathways, new signage, 24 new buggies and a fleet of greenkeeping machinery to keep the course in perfect playing condition.

Glasson Golf Club offers a wide range of competitive memberships, greens fees, group events and more. 

 

THE MARINA & ACTIVITIES 

As you enter the grounds of Glasson Lakehouse, you are struck by an awe inspiring view of Lough Ree, easily one of the most scenic locations in Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands. Take a stroll down the recently renovated tiered lawn lined with hand placed granite steps to the marina where guests and day trippers can enjoy a host of new facilities including complimentary use of the hot tubs and outdoor heated pool. And activities include historic boat rides, fishing, kayaking, standup paddle boarding and more. All activities can be booked with reception, who also offer a host of fun event days for birthdays, weddings, stags and hens, and corporate team building days.

There’s plenty for the kids too with a brand new playground, fairy walk, petting farm, kids’ cookery school, kids golf lessons with our Club Pro, and indoor kids’ playroom with a movie screen.
