Midterm at Glasson Lakehouse

Lake boats
Explore the breath-taking surroundings of Glasson Lakehouse in one of our authentic rowboats or motorboats. Take in Temple Island, Hare Island, Coosan Lough and Ballykeeran Lough with a rowboat excursion, or if you’re looking for some adventure hop on our kayaks & paddle boards! Gone for the day? You can even order a packed lunch and enjoy a picnic on the shores of Lough Ree for a day out that will result in endless giggles and memories.
Walking & Fairy trail
Take in the scenery with a crisp autumn stroll around the vast Glasson grounds, but Shhh, don’t wake the fairies!! Our enchanted woods are a home to a fairy village, helping your kids imagination come to life with magical moments and lots of hidden surprises!
We can even provide you with blankets and a picnic to enjoy lakeside, while maybe feeding the ducks a bite or two!
For a longer walk, can also offer beautiful woodland walks less than 5km from Glasson Lakehouse in Portlick Millimum Forest.

Fancy a dip? Dive out of the cold and into our stunning heated pool overlooking the rolling countryside and lough Ree, soak in the views while you float the day away.
Golf
Golfing at Glasson Golf Club is an experience not to be missed. No matter what your level of golf expertise, the course is cleverly crafted so you can tee off for a relaxing round while soaking up the Glasson atmosphere. We offer special rates for guests, rental clubs available and golf lessons available for all ages, along with kiddies golf club to get them swinging!
Fishing
The excellent Lough Ree offers a wide choice of fishing bays and you can also expect to find perch, bream, roach, rudd and tench in the inner lakes, we can even help organise a local Ghillie who will show you the hidden gems and help teach you the ropes!
Playground
We have an onsite playground to help keep children occupied as well as an indoor playroom for those wet Autumn play days!
Cycling
Why not borrow a bike from us and discover our local countryside? With many dedicated cycle path in the area, Glasson is the perfect starting point for an exploration on wheels. We have adult & junior bikes for hire with the addition of baby buggy’s. Helmets will be provided.
Bird Watching
Watch the falcons and sparrowhawks spread their wings over our tree lined avenue, or see nesting Moorhens, Whooper Swans, Lapwings and Wigeons down by the marina. Bring your binoculars and get exploring!
Finish off your day
After an active day and delicious locally sourced meal in Bonnie’s, you can cosy down to a book and some old fashioned board games by the fire, head outside with some hot chocolates to share stories and favourite moments of your visit, while basking in the warmth of the outdoor fire, or escape to your luxurious room and treat yourselves to some of the tasty Irish treats in our Munchies tray, while watching a family favourite Halloween movie on one of our Netflix enabled smart TVs.
