During your stay at Glasson Lakehouse there’s plenty of ways to get moving and keep everyone entertained. Grab a complimentary bike from our reception, take on some of the local running trails around the stunning grounds or take it easy with some Art on the lawn, Yoga and Meditation followed by a Picnic or some Birdwatching.



With a resort covering over 180 acres why not explore while getting fit. For the more energetic we have beautiful picturesque meandering boreens with lake vistas at every turn. Finish off your run by jumping and cooling down in the lake at our modern marina. For those wet and cold mornings we have a state of the art Power Gym located in the hotel which is complimentary for our guests.



Golfing at Glasson Golf Club is an experience not to be missed. No matter what your level of golf expertise, the course is cleverly crafted so you can tee off for a relaxing round while soaking up the Glasson atmosphere. We offer special rates for guests, rental clubs available, 10 bay driving range and golf lessons available with Lynn McCool our inhouse PGA professional. More Info.



Cycle the old rail trail greenway from Athlone to Mullingar. Located on a disused railway line, this is a ‘must’ cycle for anyone who likes getting out on their bike. This dedicated cycle path follows the old rail track under arched bridges, through a tunnel and past beautiful countryside. With lots of entry and exit points, you can hop on and off to explore the villages and attractions along the way.
Alternatively borrow a bike from us and discover our local countryside, cycle up to Portlick or head into Athlone to see the sights.

From bringing out the romantic in you or having a social distanced family get together on our lawn. With so many delightful picnic spots dotted around our Lakehouse grounds, from our picnic tables on the edge of the marina to unfolding a picnic blanket in one of our many forests. Watch the falcons and sparrowhawks spread their wings over our tree lined avenue, then venture down to our marina and listen to the cacophony of sound from the reeds where nesting Moorhens, Whooper Swans, Lapwings and Wigeons. Bring your binoculars or ask at reception to borrow ours.
